WHO IS CHRIS NYST

Chris Nyst is the founding principal of Nyst Lawyers. He resigned his position as a senior partner with the international Minter Ellison Legal Group to set up a boutique litigation practice with a hand-picked group of hard-hitting litigators specialising in criminal, commercial, and family law disputes.
 
Recognised as one of Australia's leading litigators and a specialist in criminal law and international extradition law, Mr Nyst is also an Adjunct Professor of Law with Griffith University. He is a member of the International Commission of Jurists Australia and was a special adviser to the UN investigation into human rights violations in East Timor. He is a founder and current executive member of the internationally renowned Griffith University Innocence Project.
 
Mr Nyst is also a best-selling author of fictional legal thrillers having written Cop This, Crook as Rookwood and Gone.  He is also a critically acclaimed screenwriter and film producer having written and produced the AFI award winning film Gettin' Square starring Sam Worthington, and cult classic Crooked Business (view trailer). 
 
Mr Nyst has recently been appointed as a Director to the Board of Screen Queensland.
